How to Pray in Secret

The Rosary

Start with your hands at your sides relaxed and open.
Make the sign of the cross by brushing your hair,
or with your right index finger in the air

Say the Apostle's creed with your hands open, turned palms forward.


Abbreviations: GB ( Glory Be ), HM ( Hail Mary ), OF ( Our Father )
#D means "number of decade" 1D means the first decade, 2D means the second, etc. to 5D

After Making the Sign of the Cross and Saying the Creed, follow these instructions.
Your left hand counts decades.
Your Right Hand counts prayers. 
Feel free to switch this if you are left handed.

SHHH...HOW TO PRAY THE ROSARY IN SECRET!
Left Hand Right Hand

Start with the thumb, then the index finger, then the middle finger, then the ring finger, then the pinky. When you finish praying at the left pinky, you are done with the Rosary

Start with thumb outstretched to
mark the first decade, switch to
the index finger, then
to the middle finger, etc..
until you reach five

 The Our Father (OF) and Glory
Be (GB) are said with a
clenched fist.
Our Father, Hail Mary 1-3, Our Father
THE FIRST PART (2-5)
Hold your right hand with thumb
and pinky extended.  Count the
OFs on thumb and pinky, the
HMs on index, middle and ring
finger.

Part 6
Each Decade you pray through,
extend a finger on your LEFT
hand to keep track of where you
are in the Rosary.

Part 6
COUNTING  A DECADE,
PART ONE
(see next 5 images.  Start with
fingers slightly clenched, and
extend finger with each HM )
Start with the thumb, then the index finger, then the middle finger, then the ring finger, then the pinky. When you finish praying at the left pinky, you are done with the Rosary Hail Mary 1

COUNTING  A DECADE,
Part Two.  Rotate your hand
90 degrees, then extend your
fingers, 1 by 1, as you say HMs
6-10.
(see next 3 images, HM 3, 4,
& 5 omitted for brevity )

Start with the thumb, then the index finger, then the middle finger, then the ring finger, then the pinky. When you finish praying at the left pinky, you are done with the Rosary
Make a fist with your RH and
say OF between each decade.
Keep count of decades on your
left hand.  When you get to your
pinky, you are almost done.

DECADE FINISHED when
you hit your pinky. 
(repeat 5 times, keeping track
on your left hand)

Be Sure to Say the HAIL HOLY QUEEN, and the Rosary
is complete.
